How to Build a Platform That Leaves a Legacy

August 5, 2026 · By Lorna Greyling

M-Power TV was not born from a business plan. It was born from a burden — the conviction that every person has a story that deserves to be heard.

I did not set out to run a talk show. I set out to share stories that mattered — stories that would outlive the moment and land in the heart of someone who needed them.

The platform came second. The purpose came first. I think that distinction makes all the difference.

Start With the Why

Before you think about cameras, distribution, or monetisation, get brutally clear on *why* you are building what you are building.

Ask yourself: if no one watches, no one pays, and no one notices — will you still feel compelled to do this work? If the answer is yes, you have found your purpose. If the answer is no, you may be chasing an outcome rather than answering a calling.

Build for One Person First

Every episode of M-Power TV, I record with one person in mind: the single mother driving home from a night shift, exhausted and wondering if things will ever change. If the episode can reach her — if it can give her fifteen minutes of *someone understands* — then it has done its job regardless of the view count.

Legacy is not built in millions. It is built one changed life at a time, over and over again, until the number takes care of itself.

Consistency Over Perfection

The most important thing I have learned after years of producing the show is that showing up consistently beats showing up perfectly every time.

Your audience does not need polished. They need present. They need to know you will be there, week after week, with something real to offer.

That is how you build something that lasts.
